About Judy Leslie

I am a Vancouver area fibre artist who receives great pleasure from creating original quilt designs. I am continuously inspired by the natural landscape, both locally and in my travels. By applying knowledge of fashion sewing methods and art principles to the design and construction of quilts, I have developed some unique techniques. I particularly enjoy incorporating my photography into the planning and execution of my pieces.

Over the last several years I have exhibited my art quilts in a number of venues including the International Quilt Association Festival in Houston, the Association of Pacific Western Quilters Quiltfest, Road to California Show and Conference, the Ontario Network of Needleworkers Travelling Exhibition, the International Quilt Festival 'O' Canada' Exhibition and the La Conner and Shelburne Quilt museums. I was awarded the Canadian Quilters' Association President's Award for Applique in 2006 and the Best of Show award at the National Juried Show in 2010 and 2015.

Making art quilts nourishes my desire to be artistic and inventive. But more importantly, quilt making gives me the opportunity to associate with an amazing community of art quilters and to continuously develop new friendships.
