About Pat Findlay

For almost fifty years I have immersed myself in fibres. I have explored almost every technique and style of work. My journey has included exploration of other art forms, but I have always been driven back to fibre, now tending to dye or paint my own fabric. As I put more of myself into my work, I find that my expressions are grounded in the basic principles of colour, line and texture. It is colour that starts the process, and a period of “play” with my colour choice that ultimately leads to the use of, first line, and then texture, in my final design. Recently I have found myself starting to give more consideration to dimension, and have been producing more three dimensional pieces.
