Born in WhiteHorse Yukon, and raised in Vancouver, BC I now reside in Rock Creek,BC where I married and raised my family.
For me to create is a spiritual act, making my work intensely personal. I respond to the beauty I see - in nature and in manmade structures; in Spiritual concepts; in family, friends and animals, both domestic and wild; current and historical issues also move me to respond.
Water and the colour turquoise have woven their way into much of my work. The colours that I attain from dyeing my own fabrics give a richness that conveys depth and mystery. The thread that connects and paints the fabric is like the threads that weave in and out of our lives connecting us to one another.
My desire is for the viewer to catch a glimpse of what I see when I respond through my art but also to have enough space to fabricate their own story with each piece.
