I started this piece while I was taking a Close-Ups in Cloth class with Martha Cole at Emma Lake, Saskatchewan. The plant life depicts the nurturing capacity of the undisturbed earth, the rain, and the heat of the sun. The abundance of plant varieties and lush undergrowth in the deciduous forest sparkled in the sun on those warm summer days. That environment also nurtured the growth of fibre artists. As a novice, I felt like the lowly dandelion shouting, "Count me in!"
