Petroglyphs were an early form of rock art and are found throughout the world. Arizona has a rich aboriginal history and petroglyphs can be seen throughout the state, in both urban and rural locations. This quilt illustrates some of the images seen on trips around the state.
Featuring lemon juice painted and scorched petroglyphs, this art quilt also includes various fabrics, fibre and paper, felt, lace, washers and a variety of threads. Along with the painting, quilting, hand and machine embroidery, bobbin work and crochet played a part.
