When my grandmother was 5 she was a student in a children’s art class hosted by Emily Carr. I love Emily Carr’s work, so it seemed fitting that I recreate an Emily Carr painting.
In making this piece I explored copyright laws and work that is in the public domain.
I auditioned many fabrics for my cedar, choosing some, discarding others until satisfied.
I really enjoyed the whole process of making this quilt.
