At the early stages of ripeness, this rose hip appears to be spreading its wings and gathering as much sunshine as possible. Nestled against soft greens and yellows, the red highlights direct all of the focus to the rose hip.
This hip was cut out from one piece of Tyvek, which was then wrinkled with a heat gun. It was sewn onto the green and yellow felted background in one piece as well. All the shadows and highlights were then machine-stitched with varying red and orange thread. Finally, red seed beads were sewn around the centre of the base of the calyxes.
