Each leaf emerges in response to a tiny seed‘s genetic instructions, nurtured by the sunlight, warmth, water and nutrients around it. The ‘eco-printing‘ process captures the detail of actual leaves on fabric, as a record of their life. How magical is that?
Techniques: Botanical contact printing with eucalyptus, wild rose and other local leaves on silk chiffon; nuno-felting; wet-felting; hand stitching
Materials: naturally-dyed wool fibre, silk chiffon fabric, silk thread; mounted on a separate wet-felted backing made from wool fibre.
