Nature‘s beauty is everywhere¦¦
These leaves were some of the last from our front yard Elm Tree. The trees were planted 150 years ago and produced shade in our yard for many years. On November 10, 2017 the tree was removed to stem the spread of Dutch Elm Disease. Rest in peace!
Techniques: The fabric image is created using a photographic process called ‘Cyanotype‘. The chemical process creates a negative image when exposed to ultra violet rays. This technique was used for making early blueprints typical of architectural and engineering offices.
The three-dimensional leaves are created by thread painting on organza and shaped using a stiffener.
